BlackBerry India yesterday launched a new QWERTY Smartphone named BlackBerry 9720. The device is available at the price of just Rs. 15,990/- hence we can consider it as budget BB phone. The device is running on BB OS 7.1 and features a 2.8-inch TFT LCD display offering 480 x 360 pixels resolution with 246 ppi. BlackBerry has powered the phone with 806 MHz Marvel Tavor MG1 CPU and 512 MB of RAM. We can expect a better performance with this configuration, however it is still a mid ranged specification. There is also a 5 Megapixel rear camera with LED Flash allowing you to capture better images and videos. Unfortunately there is no front facing camera provided with the phone. BlackBerry 9720 comes with 512MB internal storage memory which can be further expanded upto 32GB using MicroSD card. The phone seems very good in connectivity with options like 3G HSDPA 7.2Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n , Bluetooth v2.1 + EDR and GPS with A-GPS.
As the phone seems mid ranged, you may require its PC Suite that will help you to carry out several important tasks such as syncing your contacts, calendar entries, messages and other important stuffs between PC and the phone or with cloud services like Google and Yahoo. It coordinates the link between your smartphone, tablet, email accounts, calendars and more. You can also download the BlackBerry Link which helps you to sync all your multimedia files as well as Documents wirelessly. In case you changed your BB phone, BlackBerry Link can provide a speedy, hassle-free set-up. PC Suites also keeps your phone updated to latest firmware versions. There are lots more to do with PC Suites and BB Link.
